Gilmore has been in politics for decades in Nashville and was recently a State Representative. i have covered her and interviewed her for many years on air.

This show originally aired live Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 4:00 pm. (cst) Rev. Keith Caldwell was recently elected the President of the Nashville Branch of the NAACP. He is one of the youngest presidents the organization has had in a longtime.
Caldwell has a long history of grass-roots activism in the middle Tennessee area so his leadership should be rejuvenating for the historic civil rights organization.

The 411 Show's Pastor's Roundtable is monthly on my show and airs (generally) on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 7am to 9am. Pastors or faith leaders from different denominations discuss issues of the day with me and offer perspective on a host of issues and biblical principles.
The 1st segment starts with my news headlines, comment and chatter with the 411 Show's Producer. At 7:30am the guest pastors enter into the discussion. With my this week was Rev. James McCarroll from 1st Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN.
The 2nd pastor had the flu and will be re-scheduled at a later date. The Roundtable continues on the 2nd hour of this show. Check the podcast line-up for that show.

It was also his birthday. This interview covers a lot area and included Ben's wife Jewel Tankard. We cover his latest release "Rise", his book, his family, ministry, reality TV Show Thicker Than Water and so much more.
In this extended interview jazz trumpeter Ryan Montano is folded into the interview because he was waiting to meet me when I got off the air talking to Ben. Ryan was in Nashville for a visit and dropped by the station to see me. We had a great conversation on the music business.

I spoke with Amanda Dixon with Vanderbilt about a STEM program with open enrollment for 8th graders to high school. Then, Peter J. Wallison is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute was my guest to discuss his new book Judicial Fortitude: The Last Chance to Rein In the Administrative State.
From 1974 to 1976, he was counsel to Vice President Nelson Rockefeller. He was general counsel of the Treasury Department from 1981 to 1985, and White House counsel for President Ronald Reagan from 1986 to 1987. He is the author or coauthor of several books, including Ronald Reagan: The Power of Conviction and the Success of His Presidency (2003) and Hidden in Plain Sight: What Really Caused the World’s Worst Financial Crisis and Why It Could Happen Again.

Senator Brenda Gilmore commenting on clemency begin given for Cyntoia Brown by Governor Bill Haslam before he leaves office. This case drew national attention for many years because of the issues involved in the case from human trafficking, her age at the time of the killing, and other factors.
My guest for the remainder of the hour was Edgar Villanueva. He's a nationally-recognized expert on social justice philanthropy. Edgar currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Native Americans in Philanthropy and is a Board Member of the Andrus Family Fund, a national foundation that works to improve outcomes for vulnerable youth.
His new book is Decolonizing Wealth: Indigenous Wisdom to Heal Divides and Restore Balance. This was really a great discussion on a host of issues including the old boy networks, the savior complexes, and the internalized oppression among the “house slaves,” those select few people of color who gain access.
