We start this hour with some headlines, and then fold in the guest pastors. They are; Rev. Robert T. Shipp of True Christian Pentecostal Witnesses and Officer Ben Zion of Israel United In Christ.
The beginnings of a very lively discussion on scripture, etc.

It was also his birthday. This interview covers a lot area and included Ben's wife Jewel Tankard. We cover his latest release "Rise", his book, his family, ministry, reality TV Show Thicker Than Water and so much more.
In this extended interview jazz trumpeter Ryan Montano is folded into the interview because he was waiting to meet me when I got off the air talking to Ben. Ryan was in Nashville for a visit and dropped by the station to see me. We had a great conversation on the music business.

I spoke with Amanda Dixon with Vanderbilt about a STEM program with open enrollment for 8th graders to high school. Then, Peter J. Wallison is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute was my guest to discuss his new book Judicial Fortitude: The Last Chance to Rein In the Administrative State.
From 1974 to 1976, he was counsel to Vice President Nelson Rockefeller. He was general counsel of the Treasury Department from 1981 to 1985, and White House counsel for President Ronald Reagan from 1986 to 1987. He is the author or coauthor of several books, including Ronald Reagan: The Power of Conviction and the Success of His Presidency (2003) and Hidden in Plain Sight: What Really Caused the World’s Worst Financial Crisis and Why It Could Happen Again.

This show aired live on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 5pm. (cst) The hour begins with TN. Senator Brenda Gilmore commenting on clemency begin given for Cyntoia Brown by Governor Bill Haslam before he leaves office. This case drew national attention for many years because of the issues involved in the case from human trafficking, her age at the time of the killing, and other factors.
My guest for the remainder of the hour was Edgar Villanueva. He's a nationally-recognized expert on social justice philanthropy. Edgar currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Native Americans in Philanthropy and is a Board Member of the Andrus Family Fund, a national foundation that works to improve outcomes for vulnerable youth.
His new book is Decolonizing Wealth: Indigenous Wisdom to Heal Divides and Restore Balance. This was really a great discussion on a host of issues including the old boy networks, the savior complexes, and the internalized oppression among the “house slaves,” those select few people of color who gain access.

This was a great discussion on today's climate and how some in the community of faith are at a crossroads between following what "thus says the Lord", and following their political beliefs. We did involve some of the current news topics in the discussion.

This show aired on Wednesday, January 3, 2019 at 5pm (cst). This hours guest was Robert Friedman, founder and chair emeritus of Prosperity Now. He's worked extensively in the savings and asset building fields. I really enjoyed this discussion on Robert's new book "A Few Thousand Dollars". He says that 80% of people of color, are locked out the mainstream economy, unable to add their talents, work, and dreams, unable to share in the bounty.
His solution addressed in the book involves a few simple policy changes which he address wealth inequalities and build a better economy and a stronger country for us all.

I enjoyed my chat with Shaun Belding, he's CEO of The Belding Group of Companies in Canada. Our discussions was on various sizes of businesses and handling customer service and imaging issues. He's author of the book "The Journey To Wow: The path To Outstanding Customer Experience and Loyalty".
