This show was recorded from a live broadcast on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 8:00 am (cst)  The book discussion was on "The End of Hunger: Renewed Hope for Feeding the World by Jenny Eaton Dyer.  She's is the founder of The 2030 Collaborative. As such, she directs the Faith-Based Coalition for Global Nutrition with support from the Eleanor Crook Foundation and is a professor at Vanderbilt University. The book  activists, politicians, scientists, pastors, theologians, and artists on this urgent topic and urges readers to get involved in the gospel work of eradicating global malnutrition and feeding the hungry.

My guest was Bonnie Marcus, E.Ed.,  an award-winning entrepreneur and Forbes contributing writer.  She assists women in successfully navigating the workplace.  She is author of the book "The Politics of Promotion: How High Achieving Women Get Ahead and Stay Ahead".

This show was recorded from a live broadcast on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 5pm (cst).  News from the Community came from Clifford Harris, president & CEO of  the Urban League of Middle Tennessee with news about jobs being offered for Census 2020 paying up to $26.00 per hour.  

 

My guest was 411 Show Leadership team member Adonis Lenzy.  He's an author speaker and minister.  I asked him to share the recent story I discovered about him re-connecting with his father after more than 31-years and how that led him to feeling more complete.  His story is very compelling and inspirational.

This show was recorded live on WFSK FM on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 5pm (cst) News from the Community came from vocalist Kym Fleming who shares about an upcoming benefit for a Nashville non-profit raising scholarship funds.  My guest was Shindana Feagins, MD an internists and long time health provider who recently wrote a book and a new curricula called We Have Such In Common, after her non-profit organization. Which is an educational programs for children ages 11-13.  She says her mission is to promote harmony among young girls. Regardless of your ethnicity, your socioeconomic status, the color of your eyes, the texture of your hair, your body shape, the color of your skin or beliefs, we share similarities that unify us.

Spotlight on The McCrary Sisters and their Gospel Music Legacy (12-4-19)

This show was recorded from a live broadcast on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 4pm, (cst) on WFSK FM Radio.  The ladies have a new holiday release and are about to hit the road with it entitled ' A Very McCrary Christmas 2019, released November 15, 2019 on Rounder Records..  

The McCrary Sisters (Ann, Deborah, Regina and Alfreda) are the daughters of the late Rev. Samuel McCrary — one of the original members of the legendary gospel quartet The Fairfield Four. The daughters were raised in harmony, singing at home and at their father’s church, but word soon spread of their individual accomplished voices and each began sharing the family vocal legacy as solo artists with a wide range of performers to include Bob Dylan, Elvis, Isaac Hayes and Stevie Wonder.  

The ladies were last on the show in 2013, it was good to see them.  

Impeaching the President book disccussion with Alan Hirsch (12-11-19)

This show aired live on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 (cst) on WFSK FM radio.  He was on the show about a year ago when the book "Impeaching the President: Past, Present, and Future" was published.  This interview,  booked several months before proved to be timely with the headlines of the day.  Hirsch is Chair of Justice and Law Studies at Williams College.  

Subject: On Nashville's Stage Play Scene for Young African Americans (12-11-19

This show was recorded from my live on broadcast on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 4pm (cst) on WFSK FM.  My guest was Alan Nettles of Moving 4ward Productions with a new stage play "Wear Your Crown".  A New York native, Nettles graduated from college with a degree in Communications with a concentration in TV & Film Production.  Among much topic was the scene in Nashville for young African Americans in the arts.

I named the holiday broadcast "What Christmas Means to Us", because the hope is to project something different than spending money or going in debt and also building bridges in the community. We always have such a wonderful time!

"Understanding What Men Need, Think and Feel" with Roderick Hairston on his new book - 11-24-19

This show was recorded from a live broadcast of my show on WFSK radio here in Nashville on Sunday November 24, 2019 at 8:00 am.  The guest is pastor, coach, and author Roderick Hairston.  He's a Baltimore pastor and former NFL Chaplain.  He says "the book is written for the lady who has struggled to figure out the best ways to care for the needs, thoughts, and feelings of the husband, father, son, or brother she loves."  Cover Him is a coaching manual -- a practical guide for understanding what men often need, think, and feel but rarely express with words.

We covered a lot of scenarios on male/female relationships.
