I am blessed to have been able to interviewed on-air and introduced on stage at festivals Saxophonist/Flautist Najee.  A straight up good brother who totally loves his family.  

He was on with us the day before his anticipated new album “Savoir Faire" was released on May 13, 2022.  It is always my pleasure to talk with him.

Our Spotlight was shinning bright on Grammy nominated and owner of six #1 smooth jazz radio singles himself, Paul Jackson Jr.  He's such a nice person and we can really chat it up.  He's been featured on recordings with top superstars such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Luther Vandross, Barbra Streisand, and childhood friend Patrice Rushen.

The Spotlight was on Kansas City's Julian Vaughn a funky and soulful bassist who makes his own brand of gospel-influenced smooth jazz and instrumental R&B.  He recently left his major label and went out on his own for his new release entitled "Solo".

It's good to catch up with a homeboy!  

The New TN. Re-Entry Program - Dr. William Arnold - March 30, 2022

This episode was recorded from my live show on Wednesday, 4-30-220 at 4:00 pm on WFSK JAZZY 88 at Fisk University.  The Wednesday Edition has a News from the Community Segment on the very beginning.   

William Arnold spent seven years in prison before the Court of Appeals overturned his conviction because he'd been wrongly convicted. A judge then threw out the charges after the district attorney's office determined it no longer believed he had committed a crime.

He will head up the State's new program.

Former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean March 30, 2022

This episode was recorded from my live show on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 4:00 pm on WFSK JAZZY 88 at Fisk University.  The Wednesday Edition has a News from the Community Segment on the very beginning.   

Dean who served as the 6th Mayor of Nashville, Tennessee from 2007 to 2015.  During those years he made frequent appearances on my show, even though I kept it 100 with him he never backed down.  

WFSK Artist of the Week Interview with Sonny Emory (4-28-22)

The spotlight was on Atlanta's own drummer and percussionists Sonny Emory for his first time on WFSK.  His current release is entitled "Soul Ascension".

He is a highly respected musician who began his transition to becoming a professional drummer playing with Joe Sample and the Crusaders.  Though probably best known for his groundbreaking drumming with Earth, Wind, and Fire; Sonny has performed with a virtual "who's who" in pop and jazz music including Stanley Clarke, David Sanborn, Bette Midler, Al Jarreau, Paula Abdul, Jean-Luc Ponty, and Boz Scaggs. 

We had a great conversation!
