This is the 7:00 am hour of the Pastor's Round Table for the month of April, 2022.   Guest pastors are:  Rev. Dr. Geneva Hall of Good News Fellowship Church  and Rev. Dr. Erica Barr of Life Church International, both in Nashville.

Dr. Shanna L. Jackson on Leadership - 4-6-22

Shanna L. Jackson, Ed.D, is  the empowerment guest to discuss leadership.  She's the  president of Nashville State Community College. Dr. Jackson was named president of Nashville State Community College in March 2018, and began her duties as president on June 1, 2018.

She is the first African American to hold that position.

WFSK Artist of the Week Interviews - Sonny Emory 4-28-22

This episode is from a WFSK weekly feature called "Artist of the Week.  It aired on WFSK JAZZY 88 Thursday, April 28, at 12:30 pm (cst) featuring Sonny Emory. We discussed his release Soul Ascension.

He's a highly sought after singer, songwriter, drummer and percussionist. 

The artists he was worked with recording artist ranging from R&B, to Pop and Jazz.  They include Earth, Wind and Fire, Bette Midler, Al Jarreau, Paula Abdul, Boz Skaggs, the B52s, Steely Dan, Jennifer Lopez and Bruce Hornsby.  

Sonny is a native of Atlanta.  

 

Covid Up and at 4:30pm Book Discussion on Criminal Justice Reform

This episode was recorded from a live broadcast of my show What's the 411? with Sharon Kay broadcast live on WFSK FM,  Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 4:00pm.

Covid related issues were covered by Dr. Gill Wright, head of Metro Nashville Public Health Dept was joined by Rachel Franklin, she the head of Nursing there.  

At 4:30pm the book up for discussion is: Bending the Arc: My Journey From Prison to Politics by Keeda Haynes.  She's a Criminal Justice Reform advocate and former Public Defender and was incarceriated for agreeing to receive multiple packages for her then-boyfriend.

He told her that the deliveries were for a cell phone and pager business. As it turned out, the packages actually contained marijuana, unbeknownst to Haynes
